Sunsets Gastronomy Relax The night Beaches More than beaches
Ses Illetas
The highlight of Ses Illetas is the tranquility of its waters, their shallow depth, and turquoise tones, which, combined with the white sand on the shore, make it an authentic paradise. This beach is part of a dune and island vegetation ecosystem. It's not only one of the most well-known and beautiful beaches in Formentera but is also considered in most rankings as one of the best beaches in Spain and the world.
With a length of over 450 meters, Ses Illetas is divided into two due to a small rocky area in the center. Access is free on foot, by bicycle, or by boat; however, car access has a cost of €6, and €4 for motorcycles.
Cala Sahona
Known as the jewel of the western coast of Formentera, Cala Saona is the only sandy beach nestled among the imposing cliffs of the southwestern part of the island. There are several ways to reach it, one of them following paths southward that traverse the most rural part of the island, among pines and dry stone walls. The other option is by road from Sant Francesc towards Cap de Barbaria, where there is a signposted detour halfway. At the end of the asphalt, there is a parking area for easy access to the beach.
In addition to the breathtaking landscapes, Cala Saona offers various activities such as paddle surfing, kayaking, or snorkeling. One of the best excursions from here is paddling towards the cliffs of Punta Rasa, where underwater caves worth visiting are hidden.
Migjorn Beach
It is one of the most extensive beaches on the island, with 5 kilometers of paradisiacal stretches of white sand and crystal-clear waters. Rocks divide some areas, creating small coves ideal for family enjoyment due to their shallow sandy bottoms, perfect for children's safety.
Some highlights of Migjorn include Cala d’es Mort, Es Cupinà, Es Arenals, Ca Marí, and Es Mal Pas. To access this part of the island, simply follow one of the detours south on the main road, passing through the town of Sant Ferran towards La Mola. In this area, you will find a wide variety of beach restaurants, beach clubs, and beach bars.
Es Pujols Beach
If your desire is to enjoy both entertainment and the beach, Es Pujols is the ideal choice. Although it is one of the busiest beaches in summer, it offers a wide variety of experiences that you won't want to miss.
Explore shops and boutiques designed especially for summer fashion. But when it comes to shopping, the real star is a lively market that brightens up summer evenings for visitors.
Es Pujols boasts a beautiful beach with white sand and turquoise waters, with stretches of rock and picturesque boat houses that reflect its original fishing charm. Here, the village and nature coexist in harmony, thanks to a charming promenade perfect for walking while enjoying sea views or choosing which restaurant to spend the evening. Thus, Es Pujols offers everything you need for a happy stay in Formentera.
